Bangladesh has been spearheading observance of the International Mother Language Day [#internationalmotherlanguageday] in the Netherlands, comes every 21st February. The Day aims to contribute to the collective tapestry of #multi-culturalism and #multi-lingualism across our societies. In the Hague, in 2018, a permanent Shaheed Minar (language martyr’s monument) was erected at the famous Zuiderpark managed that is managed by the Gemeente [Municipality] the Hague.

This is the third year in a row that Leiden University and the Embassy of Bangladesh in the Netherlands are drawing #denhaag-based int’l community and multi-lingual studentship to celebrate multilingualism. For two and half decades, Bangladesh has been spearheading this Day universally to advance our shared tapestry of #multiculturalism and #multilingualism, across societies.
