Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to the Netherlands, November 2015

Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Hon’ble Foreign Minister Mr. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP and Hon’ble State Minister for Water Resources Mr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Bir Protik, MP, and a business delegation of 30 members, paid a bilateral official visit to the Netherlands on 3-5 November 2015 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte. This was the first-ever bilateral official visit to the Netherlands by any Prime Ministers of Bangladesh. 

The Dutch Queen Her Majesty Máxima’s visit to Bangladesh, November 2015

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited Bangladesh on 16-18 November 2015 in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, at the invitation of the Bangladesh government. 

Dutch Twin Ministerial Visit, June 2015

Two Dutch Ministers (Ms. Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation and Ms. Melanie Schultz, Minister for Infrastructure & Environment) jointly undertook a historic visit to Bangladesh on 14-18 June 2015. 

The Dutch Queen, as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, visits Bangladesh again in July 2019

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited Bangladesh again on 9-11 July 2019 in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, at the invitation of the Government of Bangladesh. The Queen visited Bangladesh to promote people’s access to financial services in Bangladesh as the country is currently developing a national strategy to improve people’s access to financial services. 

Dutch Development Cooperation Minister visits Bangladesh on 5-6 November 2018

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, H.E. Ms Sigrid Kaag visited Bangladesh in the first week of November 2019 to gain personal insight into the Rohingya crisis, the authorities’ response and the humanitarian aid being offered. During the visit, the Dutch Minister called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister and visited Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar to talk to the forcibly displaced Rohingya people.
