Bangladesh Ambassador to the Netherlands H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Belal today at the Dutch Parliament met the 4-member Dutch Parliamentary delegation who is scheduled to attend the 136th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 1-5 April 2017. The Dutch Parliamentary delegation included Mr. Joop Atsma, Member of the Senate, Ms. Arda Gerkens, Member of the Senate, Mr. Raymond De Roon, Member of the House of Representatives, and Mr. Nico Schrijver, Member of the Senate. Mr. Bas Nieuwenhuizen, Secretary of the delegation and Mr. Kazi Russel Pervez, Counsellor of Bangladesh Embassy, The Hague also joined the meeting.
Bangladesh Ambassador briefed the Dutch Parliamentary delegation about the robust Bangladesh-Netherlands bilateral relations, Bangladesh-EU relations, social and economic developments of Bangladesh, political and security situation in Bangladesh, geopolitical developments in the region, and activities of Dutch NGOs in Bangladesh, etc.
Bangladesh Ambassador appreciated the Dutch Parliamentary delegation for their scheduled visit to Bangladesh to attend the 136th Assembly of IPU and hoped that it would give them a unique opportunity to have valuable interactions with other parliamentarians across the globe and share best parliamentary practices and procedures towards realizing our cherished goal of achieving democracy, development and peace. The Dutch Parliamentary delegation thanked the Ambassador for his briefing and hoped for a very fruitful visit to Bangladesh.
