Power of Attorney/ Legalization/ Attestation of documents :

Power of Attorney (PoA):

A prior appointment is a must for availing PoA attestation service.
Power of attorney service can be availed by either of the following methods-
I. Signing the power of attorney documents in front of the Consular Officer of the Embassy; or
II. Signing the power of attorney documents in front of a Solicitor/Barrister/Notary Public/Commissioner for Oath, and later, attested by Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands. After the attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the documents may be submitted to the Bangladesh Embassy for verification of endorsement of the attestation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
NB: In case of requirement of the power of attorney regarding land property in Bangladesh, the document signed by the Bangladesh Embassy must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka for it to be valid.

B. 1. Requirements for signing the document before the Consular Officer of the Embassy:
a. Applicant’s physical presence at the Embassy is mandatory;
b. Unsigned documents are to be submitted to the Embassy. The signature must be done in front of the Consular Officer.
c. The executant(s) must present valid Bangladesh passport(s). Dual nationals (Bangladeshi and Dutch) who do not have a valid Bangladeshi passport must present his/her Dutch passport with ‘no visa required’ stamp on it. Person(s) who do not have Bangladesh passport or Dutch passport with ‘no visa required’ stamp should follow the process as mentioned in section II above and described in B.2 below.
d. Two copies of passport size photograph for executant (s) and two copies of passport size photo for attorney.
e. Original /or photocopy of photo ID of the attorney (passport/Voter ID/). If the executants(s) name differs from his photo ID, court’s paper/affidavit, duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh or the Netherlands will be needed.
f. Attorney’s photograph must be endorsed by the executant(s) in front of the consular officer;

Please Note:
If the executant(s)/signatory(ies) of a power of attorney is/are unable to appear in person, or are unable to produce their Bangladeshi passport (s), the following procedure has to be followed with regard to the submission of the document:
B.2. Requirements for signing the documents in front of solicitor and etc.:
a. 01(one) copy of photograph of executant (s) must be endorsed with the document by the solicitor/ Notary Public/Commissioner for Oath; Attorney’s photograph must be endorsed by the executant (s) in front of solicitor/ Notary Public/Commissioner for Oath and then that must be endorsed by the solicitor/ Notary Public/Commissioner for Oath;
b. After signing in front of solicitor, the document has to be taken to legalisation section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands for authentication of the signature of the solicitor;
c. After authentication by the Foreign Ministry, the documents are to be brought to the Embassy for signature by Embassy official;

Document Attestation Service:

Documents required for submitting documents for attestation are:

  • Payment of prescribed fees in acceptable method of payment (PIN or by bank transfer)
  • A photocopy of the original document
  • A photocopy of passport
  • 2 Passport size photograph (in case of natural person)

Attestation of documents originated in Bangladesh:

For attestation of any document originating in Bangladesh (like marriage certificate, birth certificate, police clearance, etc.) must contain the attestation of the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

Attestation of documents originated in The Netherlands:

For attestation of any document originating in the Netherlands (like chamber of commerce certificate, company board resolution, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.) must contain the attestation of the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague.

Consular Service by Mail/Post

It is possible to apply and receive consular services by post. The requirements are:

(i) the applicant may send the required documents by post/courier to the address of the Embassy.

(ii) the applicant should transfer the applicable fee to the bank account of the Embassy and attach the payment reference with the applications.

(iii) the applicant should attach a paid- return envelop containing the address of the applicant along with a free hand request to the Embassy to return his/her documents by post without any liability.

However, the Embassy reserves the right to request for applicant’s personal appearance in any case.

Dead Body Repatriation

 

বাংলাদেশে মৃতদেহ পরিবহনের সনদপত্র – নিম্নলিখিত নথিপত্রগুলি মেইল/ই-মেইলের (স্ক্যান কপি, পিডিএফ ফর্ম্যাট) মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসে প্রেরণ করতে হবেঃ

০১. মৃতব্যক্তির বাংলাদেশ পাসপোর্টের ফটোকপি (মেশিন রিডেবল হলে ১-৩ পৃষ্ঠা এবং হাতে লিখিত পুরানো হলে ১-৭ পৃষ্ঠা), বাংলাদেশী পাসপোট না থাকলে এনভিআর পৃষ্ঠাসহ যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের পাসপোর্টের কপি/বাংলাদেশী এনআইডি/বাংলাদেশী জন্মসনদের কপি দিতে হবে;

০২. সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ থেকে মৃত্যু সনদপত্র;

০৩. মৃতদেহ সংক্রমণমূক্ত এ মর্মে প্রত্যয়নপত্র;

০৪. মৃতসনদ দ্রুত পেতে উপরোল্লেখিত সকল নথিপত্রের স্ক্যানকপি (পিডিএফ ফরম্যাট) দূতাবাসের কনস্যুলার শাখায় (consular.thehague@mofa.gov.bd) ই-মেইলযোগে পাঠাতে হবে;

Death Registration

Requirements for Death Certificate:

  • a. Passport of the deceased person;
  • b. 2(two) passport size photographs;
  • c. Death/Medical certificate issued by local health authorities;

Travel Permit

 

A Travel Permit is issued to a Bangladeshi citizen who does not possess a valid
Bangladeshi passport but intends to return to Bangladesh.

You
are kindly requested to submit the following documents:

  1. Duly filled Travel Permit application form
    (available on our website)
  2. Copy of previous passport
  3. Digital Birth Certificate
  4. Three passport-size photographs
  5. Physical presence at the Embassy for an interview

Fee: €25 (non-refundable). Payment can be made by bank transfer or debit

at the counter. (Cash or cheque not accepted).

Police Clearance Certificate

The Police Clearance Certificate for the Bangladeshi citizens residing in abroad is issued from the respective Police Station in Bangladesh. The applicant need to apply directly or through nominated relatives to the concerned police station of the permanent residence. Requirement for Police Clearance Certificate:

You will require a Bangladeshi Mobile number to apply for a police clearance. If you do not have this, any of your relative on your behalf may apply on behalf of you.

  • 1) A photocopy of valid passport duly attested by the consular officer of the High Commission, London will be required for Police Clerance Certificate application. The applicant may visit Bangladesh High Commission London any working day with his valid passport and a photocopy of the valid passport for the attestation. No appointment is necessary.
  • 2) While collecting the Police Clerance certificate by someone in Bangladesh a duly attested authorisation letter will be required. Hence you are advised to fill in this Authorisation Letter and bring this to us on the day of your valid passport attestation.
  • 3) Main copy of treasury chalan worth Tk. 500 in favour of code 1-2201-0001-2681 from any branch of Bangladesh Bank/Sonali Bank (home and abroad).
