Requirements for visa application
Please note that the Embassy has the right to ask for any additional documents at any stage for scrutiny by the Consular Officer before rendering any service. The authority also reserves the right to reject any application or document at any time without ascertaining any reasons.
Steps to apply for visa?
- At first login visa.gov.bd. Then fill up visa form and submit (if you face problem in uploading photo, leave it for us).
- print the completed form
- take the printed form enclosed with required documents
- pay the visa fees via bank transfer or by PIN (at the Embassy).
- Submit the printed copy of the visa application to the Embassy along with the required documents.

All the visa applicants need to submit the following documents for applying visa to visit Bangladesh:
i. Duly filled in visa application (downloadable from Embassy’s website) form with three recently taken passport size colour photographs
ii. At least 6 months valid with two empty-pages, original Passport along with copies of the information page (other than Dutch, Polish, Croatian and Bosnian citizens have to submit residence permit or proof of residence issued from Dutch Authorities)
iii. Flight particulars/ booking for visiting Bangladesh (confirmed ticket is not required)
iv. All the applicants who are below 18 years old have to submit a written permission from his/ her parents with their copies of Passports / IDs along with their birth certificate/ municipality declaration (uittrekssel).
Additional documents require, depending upon the purpose of visit, are as follows:
a.For Business Purpose:
– Invitation and Declaration letter from the concerned Business Company/ Organization both from Bangladesh and the Netherlands/Europe.
b.For Study Purpose:
– Invitation/ offer letter from the concerned university/ college/ school(educational institutions in Bangladesh)
– Declaration/ recommendation letter from university/ college/ school in the Netherlands
– Bank gaurantee
c.For Tourist Purpose (only for single entry):
– Duly filled-in Tourist declaration form (can be gathered from the Embassy or through e-mail)
– Invitation letter from Bangladesh along with copy of ID/ Passport of the person who invites or hotel reservation from Bangladesh or
– Introduction letter from employer/ school/ university
d.For Short term visit, Meeting, Seminer, Conference (project) Purpose (only for single entry):
– Invitation from the organization in Bangladesh as well as the letter from the company/ organization in the Netherlands/ Europe
e.For Non-Gevernment Organization (NGO) related visit:
– Have to submit the letter from the NGO Affairs Bureau in Bangladesh
– Contract letter between the Bangladeshi organization and the applicant/ sending organization
f. For Investment or Employment visas:
– Have to submit the letter from the Board of Investment in Bangladesh for Investment or letter from BOI/ BEPZA for Employment
– Invitation letter from the company in Bangladesh, along with contract.
g.For accompanied family members:
– Copy of the passport of the applicant and the latest visa page,
– Family proof letter / declaration from the Municipality / relevant Authorities
h.For official/ UN/ UN organization/ ADB etc.:
– Invitation letter from the respected organizations in Bangladesh
– A letter or Note-verbale from the organization in the Netherlnads/ Europe.
i.For Journalist/ Media personnel:
– Need to fill-in F-I, FII & List of equipment form (can be gathered from the Embassy or through e-mail),
– Invitation letter from the organization in Bangladesh,
– Declaration letter with the description of purpose of the shooting, Shooting spot and draft shooting schedule.
– Mission will forward the application(s) to the concerned authorities in Bangladesh for necessary clearance. Mission can issue visa only after getting clearance from Dhaka.

j. For “No visa required (NVR)” to travel to Bangladesh Stamp:
Bangladeshi origin foreign citizens (except SAARC countries) are eligible for endorsement of “No Visa Required to Travel to Bangladesh” stamp on their foreign passports. Their (foreign born) spouses and children are also eligible for this endorsement, which allows the holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with unlimited duration of stay within the validity of the passport. The application must be in the prescribed form (http://www.bangladeshembassy.nl/documents/NVR%20Form.pdf) of the Embassy. Three passport size photographs have to be submitted along with the application form. Foreign passport, in original, needs to be submitted with a validity of at least six months.
Required documents to submit with the application form:
At least one of the following documents in original along with a photocopy must be submitted with the application form.
A. Valid Bangladeshi Passport: Name spelling of the applicants and name of Father/Mother must be same in both Bangladesh and Dutch Passport. If any difference in names appears then endorsement/amendment/ correction in Bangladesh Passport must be done beforehand.
B. National Identity Card issued by the appropriate authority of Bangladesh.
Following documents in original along with a photocopy are also to be submitted while applying for the above status for a child:
A. Current/ expired Bangladeshi passport of Father/Mother. Names of Father/Mother must be the same in both Birth Certificate of Child and parent’s Bangladesh Passport.
B. Child’s Bangladeshi passport or Dutch birth certificate where parents’ names and particulars are included. Names of the Child, and his/her Father and Mother along with other Particulars must be same.
While applying for NVR for one’s spouse who is not originally a Bangladeshi national:
A. Valid Bangladeshi Passport of the person applying for NVR for spouse with foreign nationality
B. Foreign Passport/ Citizenship Certificate.
C. Valid marriage documents attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka or valid marriage certificate from the city corporation/Gemente of the Netherlands.
D. Declaration of the relationship and request for issuance of NVR, by the spouse (Bangladeshi).
Fee (Non-refundable) :
New NVR stamp: Normal €52.
Urgent €100 (only for new NVR)
NVR stamp transfer: €52
Delivery Time: Normal service After 3 (three) working days from submission and urgent service within the same day.
Methods of Availing of the service:
a. Direct Services by physically coming to the Embassy
b. Postal Service (Postage paid return envelope with recipient’s name and address are to be included).
