Grand Celebration of Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day 2025 in the Netherlands

The Embassy of Bangladesh in The Hague proudly celebrated Independence and National Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence through a two-day program.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the national flag at the embassy premises, followed by a grand reception at the Marriott Hotel, The Hague. Honorable guests, including H.E. Jurrian Middelhoff, Dutch Ambassador for Youth, Education, and Work, diplomats, government officials, and dignitaries, joined the event to mark this significant occasion.

In his remarks, Ambassador Tareq Mohammad paid tribute to the sacrifices made for Bangladesh’s independence and July-August movement last year and highlighted the growing Bangladesh-Netherlands partnership, particularly in trade, investment, climate action, and development cooperation.

Special guest Ambassador Middelhoff reflected on his recent visit to Bangladesh, emphasizing youth employment, entrepreneurship, and climate resilience as key areas of collaboration.

The event featured cultural performances, an exhibition on Bangladesh’s rich heritage, and a screening of documentaries showcasing the country’s progress and potential. The evening concluded with a delightful Bangladeshi cuisine experience for our distinguished guests.

On March 27, the Embassy hosted a community Iftar and dinner, where expatriates gathered to honor the martyrs of the Liberation War and reaffirm their commitment to a prosperous and inclusive Bangladesh.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our esteemed guests, partners, and the Bangladeshi community in the Netherlands for making this celebration a memorable one.
