Bangladesh on Monday, February 27, 2017, recognised Kosovo as an independent country. The cabinet approved a foreign ministry proposal for the recognition of The Republic of Kosovo as a sovereign and independent country. With the approval, Bangladesh has become the 114th country to recognise the independence of Kosovo, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting at the Secretariat in Dhaka.
Ambassador Belal received the Ambassador of Kosovo in the Netherlands H.E. Ms. Vjosa Dobruna on 6 March 2017 and handed over the letter of recognition.
